Insulating Properties Tests

The majority of oil-filled electrical equipment failures can be avoided with a solid preventative maintenance program that includes regular testing of the insulation oil. Preventative maintenance programs that include regular oil testing, filtering and dehydration greatly reduce the threat of electrical catastrophes while extending the reliability of valuable electrical assets.

Coastal Switchgear & Controls Oil Testing Lab employs the seven most common tests for evaluating the insulating capability and dielectric integrity insulating oils, including:

• Color Comparison Test
• Sediment and Particulate Test
• Dissolved Gas Analysis Test
